"Good order is the foundation of all things." – Edmund Burke For the Ben Franklin assignment, I have chosen to do order. I choose order because I really need to work on being more structured with everything in my life. Unfortunately, I am always misplacing things and I have to run around my house like a maniac to find what I need. If I have a place for everything life will be much easier.
To help me establish more order in my life, I have come up with a few processes to follow.I decided that every night before I go to bed I clean up after myself in my family room and/or bedroom. I will also get together all I need for school the following day, wether it be books or pack a lunch. I will also do major cleaning and organizing in my room and possibly get rid of things I no longer need, and make room for the items I actually have to have. Ciera,
Wow- you have some great goals! I'm excited to see how you do with adhering to them!
Mrs. V Update #1: 4/22/09 Since the beginnging of the project I have been able to succeed in some of the goals I established for myself. Every night I get the things I need for school ready the for the following day, and I have found that it saves a lot of time in the mornings. I have also done better at cleaning up after myself each evening before going to bed. Unfortunately, I have not been able to do extreme cleaning in my room yet. I will admit that I started doing some cleaning, but then I went out with some friends and ended up staying in Shippensburg for the majority of this past weekend. Hopefully this coming weekend I can pick up where I left off and continue to organize my room better.
Update #2: 4/29/09
Unfortunately, I kept on forgetting to do an update so it has been a whole week since the last. I honestly haven't made a lot of progress. I don't want to make a lot of excuses, but I haven't had much time to do some thorough cleaning at my house. Between church, youth group, schoolwork, and hanging out with friends it's been hard to just be able to stay at home and clean everything I wanted to, to establish more order in my life. Although, I was able to do a little cleaning and it does look a lot better around the house. I have also been able to find my things more easily because I keep my school stuff in one particular place at my house.
Update #3: 5/2/09
After a stressful week from school work and the unfortunate passing of Sarah Hurley, I decided to stay home and finally clean my room to a great extent. I was able to sort out all the clothes and shoes that I no longer wear or are too small for me now. I also cleared out my shelves and found a new way to organize my books and movies, and it looks a lot better. Hopefully by tomorrow I'll have the rest of my room completed and then move on to other parts of the house that need a good cleaning and reestablish order.
Update #4: 5/3/09
Well I didn't get to more cleaning and ordering my things like I wanted to. My best friend had to be rushed to the hospital this morning so I was worrying about that and then I spent the majority of my day in Shippensburg because luckily she was able to come home, so I spent some time with her. But I am glad I got to organize my room to the extreme yesterday.
